EPIC's second 1000 sq ft discussion studio is equipped with a brand new Virtual Studio system - Orad Smart Set, installed in April 2008.
Like the other "real" discussion studio, the digital, widescreen virtual studio is equipped with four lightweight JVC HD/SD cameras, fitted with studio adapters and talkback facilities.
There studio has separate video and audio galleries dedicated to the virtual system. The vision gallery is currently being upgraded. The audio gallery has a TASCAM DM-4800 digital mixer.
The studio can record to Digi-beta, or other formats, or to server for immediate editing access.

Virtual sets can be constructed in 3D Studio Max, or other 3D software, and imported to the Orad system. This facility is an ideal real-time special effects studio. The only limits on the scenes you can achieve - and the live action or animations you can accomplish within them- are set by your own imagination.
As a Virtual Studio, this space function in SD - standard definition. From September 2008, it will also function as a conventional HD studio.
