Mainsail Media were picked from six finalists from across the country to win the £10,000 prize at the EPIC pitching competition on Thursday March 13th 2008. The final six were selected from companies and individuals from all over the country who sent in ideas for TV studio formats. Three were London based, one from Bradford, one from Biggleswade. The winning pitch was “Famous for Fifteen Minutes.” Mainsail MD Phil Johnson captivated audience and judges alike with a lively pitch - which included contributions from a de-frocked priest and mini-skirted WAG. The prize - which includes £5,000 usage of production resources at EPIC and £5,000 cash to spend on crew and other production costs - is the opportunity to produce a demo or taster tape which can be used to present the programme idea to broadcasters. The six presented their ideas - live - to an invited audience and a panel of independent expert judges from the production industry. |
