The Cult Films come to EPIC
Saturday 6th August 2011The Cult Films are in town to make their debut feature ‘The Power’.
Being shot in Norwich and London, the film is produced by veteran Hollywood producer Mark Forstater (Monty Python the Holy Grail), who has teamed up with director Paul Hills, (Do Elephants Pray?) to bring to life this psychological horror, penned by Paul Hills, based on true stories and events.
The film company is providing opportunities for many first timers and students to get into the industry and gain work experience, not just as ‘runners’, but assistants to producers, accounts, casting, art design and many more areas of film production. There is also a chance for many budding actors/actresses/models to get work as extras on this production. Even local celebrity Earl Ling is getting in on the act. A boxing champ and star of ‘Ganglands’, he is now playing a large role in the film.
The studios at EPIC are hosting the shoot, providing space and facilities to create a dungeon scene for the main set along with the other less exciting aspects of film making; wardrobe, washing and ironing, for example.
It's great that Norwich continues to benefit from these kinds of opportunity. These openings will give students from NUCA, UEA and City College valuable portfolio credits, whilst positions are also open to the many arts based companies that are making Norwich one of the top creative hubs in the UK.
